SINCE 2008 · CURATORS OF ASIAN GRANDEUR

A quiet keeping
of small things

When you write to us, share a passport page, or quietly whisper a dietary preference, you are placing something of yourself in our hands. This is the promise we make — how we keep your information, how long we hold it, and how gently we let it go.

how we keep your trust

Everything we ask,
and everything we protect

Below are the answers to the questions our travellers most often ask about their information — written plainly, without fog, and free of the small print that hides things.

01 · What We Gather

What information do you ask of me?

Only what a journey genuinely requires — your name as it appears on your passport, a way to reach you, a date of birth, a dietary or medical note that might shape a menu or a walk, and payment details handled entirely by our banking partners. We do not ask for more, and we do not keep what we do not need.

Do you collect information I do not knowingly share?

Quietly, yes — but only the kind that any website receives: the country from which you visit, the device you hold, and the pages you linger on. This is used to keep the site warm and quiet, never to follow you across the internet. You may ask us at any time what we hold, and we will show you.

What about sensitive information, such as health or beliefs?

We ask for such details only when you offer them, and only when a journey requires care — a high-altitude trek, a plant-based menu, a quiet room. They are stored with the same discretion as everything else, and never used for anything beyond the composition of your voyage.

02 · Why We Ask

What do you actually use my information for?

To confirm your booking, to reach you before departure, to speak with the lodges and guides who will host you, and — with your quiet consent — to send you the occasional letter about journeys we think you might love. Nothing more. Never sold, never traded, never shown to strangers.

Do you share my details with airlines, hotels, and guides?

Only what is necessary to make the arrangements you have asked of us — a name on a passenger manifest, a dietary note to a chef, a mobility requirement to a guide. Every partner is bound by written promises of confidentiality, and none may use your information for their own purposes.

Do you ever use my information for automated decisions?

No. Every journey is composed by a human hand. We do not profile you, we do not score you, and we do not train automated systems on your words. The only intelligence applied to your itinerary is that of a curator who has read it slowly, at their desk.

03 · How Long, and How Safely

How long do you keep my information?

For the length of our relationship — your journey, its return, and a reasonable quiet thereafter — and then only as long as the law of Malaysia requires us to keep it for accounting and tax. When that time has passed, we let it go, gently, without keeping any further trace.

How do you keep it safe?

Information travels between you and us over encrypted lines. Inside our studio, it is held on servers that only a small handful of curators may reach, guarded by firewalls and by habit. Payment details never rest with us — they are held by our banking partners, who answer to the strictest standards of their profession.

What if something goes wrong?

If ever a breach should touch your information, you will hear from us directly — not through a notice buried in fine print, but with a personal letter explaining what happened, what we have done, and what you may wish to do. We believe bad news, like good, deserves to be told plainly.

04 · Your Own Hand

What rights do I hold over my information?

You may ask to see everything we hold, to correct what is inaccurate, to ask us to stop using it, or to let it be forgotten entirely — subject only to what the law obliges us to keep. Write to our curator of information at any time, and we will answer you within thirty days, thoughtfully.

May I ask to be forgotten?

Yes, and we will honour it wherever the law allows. When you ask, we will delete your name, your letters, your preferences, and every quiet note we have ever made. The only things we may keep are the records that tax and contract law require us to hold, and only for as long as they require.

How do I reach the person who answers for my information?

Write to [email protected] and your letter will reach our curator of information directly. If you prefer a slower means, write by post to our Kuala Lumpur studio — the address is on the contact page. Either way, a person, not a portal, will read your words.

We believe privacy is a form of hospitality — a way of holding someone's trust without ever making them feel watched. If any of this feels unclear, write to us; the answer deserves to be personal.
